Product Applications
ASTM A-53 is intended for mechanical and low pressure applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in steam, water, gas, and air lines. It is suitable for welding and suitable for forming.

Surface and End Finishes
Surface Finishes: black, galvanized, uncoated, pickled and oiled, pickled, bare, and soluble oil.
End Finishes: plain ends, threaded and coupled, and threads only (one or both ends).
